Use your spring to prep for a new you!

It’s finally spring, and people are full of ideas about how to improve their lives — new jobs, home projects and personal improvements.

If your plans including learning more about the cosmetic surgery procedures that will help you meet your goals, schedule a consultation with Dr. Greg Alouf as soon as possible to learn more.

But while you’re waiting, did you know there are things you can start doing RIGHT NOW that will improve your results, even before you see the doctor? It’s true! The better your health overall health going into a procedure, the better the outcome.

Stop smoking.

You already know you shouldn’t smoke, but surgical patients at Alouf Aesthetics are required to be smoke-free for at least 30 days before surgery. Smoking significantly increases the risk of complications after surgery. Smokers are more likely to have breathing problems during or after surgery and are more likely to develop pneumonia.

Here are three things to start doing TODAY to plan for your transformation:

Smoking also reduces blood flow, which slows tissue healing and overall recovery.

After you’ve done the 30 days, why not just quit for good?

Take care of your heart.

A history of heart attack or heart disease increases risks of complication during and after surgery. Increasing your physical activity, following a healthy diet and, of course, stopping smoking are good places start.

Work toward achieving a healthy weight.

Especially if you’re considering body sculpting procedures, such as liposuction, a Brazilian Butt Lift, or a breast procedure, getting closer to your ideal weight before your surgery will improve your long-term results. In addition, obesity increases risks of complication during surgery. Talk with your primary care provider about strategies for managing your weight.

Alouf Aesthetics wants to help you to achieve the very best results possible, and we’ll review your specific pre-surgery requirements when we schedule your surgery. Until then, get busy on these healthy habits NOW and contact us today to schedule a consultation.
